The East of England LGA, with support from Improvement East and the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), are running a FREE two-day training event on Successful Economic Development Delivery.  It is aimed at improving the skills and knowledge of Economic Development Officers in the East of England, with a view to enabling Local Authorities to meet their post-SNR duties.

This is part of an Economic Development training programme, which is being delivered as part of Supporting Economic Development, the Economic Development Capacity Building Project.

Over the two-day session, the course will provide an overview of delivery in economic development, allowing the opportunity to understand how different approaches to delivery operate, how they can be developed, the types of partner to involve and the strengths / weaknesses of different delivery approaches.  Attendees will have the opportunity to consider what types of approaches match the particular challenges that they face in their own areas.

Key outcomes from this training course include: -

  • overview of economic delivery in the UK in terms of policy;
  • exploration of the key challenges faced by Local Authorities in economic development and the types of delivery approaches put in place to tackle these challenges;
  • examples of good practice;
  • overview of how to evaluate delivery

This two-day training event is being delivered by CLES, the Centre for Local Economic Strategies. CLES is an independent think-doing organisation with charitable status, that undertakes a range of activities involving regeneration, local economic development and local government

Who should attend?
